Microsoft, Yahoo, and Amazon have joined together in an alliance of delivering the world’s largest virtual library that will trample Google Books. Well its easier said than done. Well, actually what the OBA is actually set out to do is to form an alternative option for all those opposed to Google’s recent $125 million settlement deal with book publishers and authors. US Department of Justice is already investigating antitrust concerns relating to the case. Should the settlement be cleared, it will permit Google a non-exclusive rights to all the works without an established writer, and will give it a 30 per cent cut of books sold via Google Books. Both of these things authors have already agreed to. Authors only fear that this new open portal of media sharing will leave them with out any substantial income.
