Hope you have been following the news and have had your analog TV boxes and analog TVs replaced? As of today, all the TV stations across the U.S. have started to cut their analog signals this morning, making this 60-year-old technology obsolete and of course leaving probably more than 1 million unprepared homeowners without TV service.
The Federal Communications Commission put 4,000 operators on standby for calls from unprepared end-user who obviously do not follow the latest news very well. Volunteer groups and local government agencies have been helping elderly people set up digital converter boxes that keep older TVs functioning. People who have their TV sets hooked up to cable or a satellite dish are unaffected.
