A beta version of Collecta.com, a real-time search has been launched. This is a search service that allows users to find results that are happening in real time.
It looks through the Web for latest reat time results from news stories, blog posts, micro-blogging updates and social messages. It provides real-time streams of results at Collecta.com, using its Extensible Messaging and Performance Protocol (XMPP) platform.
This service relies heavily on information flowing from high-traffic sources such as Twitter.com, WordPress.com, and other blogging services. The site will have to compete with sites like Google, Yahoo, Bing and others, but Collecta offers something different from its competitors.
The main difference is that instead of gathering, indexing and ranking, that Collecta is doing, is taking something from the publishers and sending it to the users (searchers). If your search results have not returned anything back, you can ether wait until it does, or simultaneously start a new search while the other one is still in progress.
Go ahead and check out the service for yourself.
