It seems like the initial predictions of Facebook being able to catchup to Myspace by 2012 might be incorrect. It seems that it might happen much sooner, which in tern might bring the demise to Myspace. Unfortunately Myspace has not being having any growth over the past year. Not only that, the numbers of unique visitors have dropped dramatically since the last year. Meanwhile Facebook keeps brining millions of new users every month (currently at 61M).
But this is not the end of the whole story. Not only is Myspace not having more new users come back to register, the old users are leaving and many current users have limited their visits to the side dramatically. Monthly page views have dropped 20% in one year. This is really hurting Myspace just for a simple fact of knowing how expensive it is to run the production like this.
With Google being out of the picture in about a year with their big welfare paycheck gone, we are not sure how hard if possible at all for Myspace to make a comeback. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
