Today I have stumbled up on a very interesting article that was written by TechCrunch, something that apparently I was not aware of. Several discussions have been taken place on Facebook regarding the denial of Holocaust. This topic got my attention because I am a grandson of the Holocaust survivor and relative of many that unfortunately did not.
This is very disturbing, since Facebook is run by a Jew. I totally understand the whole idea behind freedom of speech and I am a big supporter of it, but when it comes to things like this, this is where I draw the line. It has always began with speeches and protests before the real action was taken.
I also understand that controversial discussions like this bring a lot of traffic to the website, but why would you throw away your believes on the subject, to the success of your website? This can be argued by both sides till the end of days, but this argument should not even come up.
Freedom of speech is great and everyone should express their opinions and believes, but when it comes to hate speeches, racial slurps and bigotry, this is where I draw the line. Stop blaming Jews or any other race or person for your shortcomings.
World War I, Russian Revolution, World War II, they have all began with hate speeches and demonstrations, and we all know the outcome of that. We need to learn where we need to draw the line when it comes to the freedom of speech. You can write company policies, terms of agreements all you want, but this is just common sense.
I really would like hear your thoughts and opinions on this subject. Please leave your comments.
